Red Clay Dance Company (RCDC) founded in February 2007 by choreographer, dancer, and scholar Vershawn D. Sanders is a Brooklyn based contemporary dance company.
The mission of Red Clay Dance is to create, teach and perform life-affirming work that uses dance as its language to share the stories and culture of the African living in America.
The work is a window into the daily rituals and ceremonies that we all take part in knowingly or unknowingly as citizens of the world. It delves into the human psyche and illuminates the characteristics that make us individually different but humanly the same. Red Clay Dance strives to be a leader in the dance field, to push the boundaries of what this art form can be and exemplify what it means to “live in the moment and to dance like everyone is watching!”
