COMPANY AUDITIONS

Red Clay Dance Company will hold Company Auditions for the 26/27 Season by invitation-only, on April 16-17, 2026 in Chicago.

Red Clay Dance is interested in dynamic performers and storytellers, well-trained in a diverse range of techniques and who have an Artivist spirit!

POSITION DETAILS

  • 40-week contract begins August 3, 2026.

  • Training & Teaching Opportunities:  Company class is offered daily as a part of the rehearsal process along with discounts to take any classes offered at the Red Clay Dance Center. Dancers may have additional teaching opportunities through our Summer and Winter Intensives as a part of their contract.

  • Company members receive a part-time salary ranging from $775-$840/week based on experience with typical work week of 24/hours a week.

  • Contracts also include paid time off, holidays, and sick time as well as access to health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan, physical therapy, and an employee assistance program (EAP) is provided.

PHASE ONE: OPEN CALL

Now through March 15, 2026, all are welcome to submit a video for invitation to the in-person audition to be held in Chicago, IL, April  16-17, 2026.
Please include the following requirements in your application.

  • Resume/CV

  • One video link, not to exceed 3-minutes, including the following sections:

    • Technique

    • Improvisation

    • Performance (solo videos preferred or clearly marked in video)

NOTE: All videos must be submitted via link, (e.g. Vimeo or YouTube). Submissions are reviewed as received and notifications will be sent via email within 3-business days of receipt.

Submission Deadline: March 15, 2026

PHASE TWO: IN-PERSON AUDITION

If selected to participate in the live Chicago audition, please hold April 16-17, 2026.

  • In-person auditions will take place in Chicago at Red Clay Dance Company's Center, 808 E. 63rd St. Chicago, IL 60637.

  • Plan on a short barre, center and repertoire. Cuts will be made throughout.

PHASE THREE: CALL-BACK (REP & INTERVIEW)

By the end of your audition on April 16th, you will know if you are selected for the call-back for Friday, April 17th. Please keep this timeframe open. Dancers must be available for the entire call-back, no exceptions.
