PARTNERSHIPS
Meaningful partnerships can inspire transformation. Through our Partnerships Program, we collaborate with schools, community organizations, and corporations across the Chicagoland area to create dynamic, movement-based experiences that foster connection, creativity, and growth. Grounded in our philosophy of Artivism—the intersection of artistic excellence, social awareness, and community engagement—every partnership is designed to empower participants to engage more deeply with themselves, one another, and their communities.
Our school and community partnerships focus on youth engagement, using dance as a tool to cultivate confidence, self-expression, leadership, and creativity. For corporate partners, we offer interactive experiences that strengthen teamwork, communication, wellness, and collaboration among staff, leadership teams, and boards. Whether developing the next generation of dance Artivists or building stronger organizational cultures, Red Clay Dance creates partnerships that inspire lasting impact.

Our workshops are grounded in Artivism and led by Red Clay Dance Company Teaching Artivists. Designed for schools and youth programs, these 90-minute experiences use African Diaspora dance as a foundation for exploring the relationship between art, identity, and social justice. Through movement-based learning, students are invited to develop creativity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how artistic practice can reflect lived experience and community narratives.
Rooted in the belief that art is a tool for expression and change, these workshops help students build critical thinking, collaboration, and embodied awareness while engaging questions of voice, perspective, and community.
Workshops may be offered as a one-time experience or as a series for deeper engagement and sustained learning over time. -
Our short-term residencies are led by Red Clay Dance Company Teaching Artivists and center the practice of Artivism—using movement as a tool for expression, inquiry, and connection. Through African Diaspora dance traditions and creative exploration, participants build foundational skills while engaging their artistic voice, creativity, and critical awareness.
Residencies range from 12–36 hours with a consistent group of students, allowing time for sustained learning, practice, and growth. Each residency may conclude with an informal sharing that reflects student learning and creative process.
