Join Red Clay Dance Company for a transformative two-week intensive designed for pre-professional and early-career dancers. "Echoes of the Diaspora" invites you to immerse yourself in Afro-Contemporary training and Artivism, guided by world-class Chicago-based artists.
Program Overview:
Dancers will train daily in technique, somatic practice, and repertory labs, culminating in a showcase performance on Saturday, June 13th.
Technique Classes: Afro-Contemporary, Dunham, West African, Afro-Cuban, House, Chicago Footwork, Ballet, and Jazz Funk.
Somatic & Conditioning: Yoga and Pilates to support longevity and body awareness.
Artivism & Theory: Workshops and "Artivist Talks" exploring how rhythm, history, and cultural memory live within the body as a form of resistance.
