Red Clay Dance Company invites our Woodlawn community to Seniors Day — a special afternoon dedicated to celebrating and giving thanks for the Elders who inspire and sustain us.
This intimate gathering will feature members of the Red Clay Dance Company Touring Ensemble performing excerpts from Her Womb, a powerful work by acclaimed choreographer Michelle Gibson. The piece embodies legacy, resilience, and the sacred strength passed through generations — themes that align deeply with our commitment to “awakening glocal Artivism” through dance.
Guests will enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the Red Clay Dance Center, complete with light refreshments and treats as we come together in community, gratitude, and joy.
We’re honored to welcome Alderwoman Jeanette Taylor (20th Ward) as a special guest speaker, sharing remarks on the importance of community, creativity, and cultural growth on Chicago’s South Side and Woodlawn community.
